چکیده
Introduction. Candida is the cause of most systemic fungal infections that plays a role in pathophysiology sepsis newborns, especially premature infants with late-onset sepsis. The score can be used to assess occurrence candidosis where 2.5 accurately identify patients who are at high risk for candidiasis infection. Monocytes also play an important preventing candida invasion. Materials and methods. This study cross sectional research design. Data was collected from being suspected neonatology inpatient ward. It submitted period November-December 2021. takes minimum 31 samples meet criteria process analyze data. data obtained were processed analyzed using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) method obtain Area Under Curve (AUC) value. Based on AUC curve, search optimal intersection carried out sensitivity specificity values. Results. Of subjects, number subjects positive PCR results 27 (76.93%) while negative 4 respondents (12.9%). mean value density group 76.93 range 40.23122.78. Meanwhile, negative, 0. diagnostic test showed 81%. Higher 70% found combined examination scores monocyte counts according cut-off compared separate examinations. Conclusions. count as sepsis, could consider initiation empirical antifungal therapy, either prophylactically or therapeutically, limited laboratory facilities Indonesia.

Decretion of Late Onset Sepsis with Enteral Low Dose Lactulose in Very Premature Infants: A Double-Blind Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Pilot Study
Background Neonatal sepsis contributes substantially to neonatal morbidity and mortality, and is an ongoing major global public health challenge. We aimed to evaluate the effects of enteral feeding supplementation of low dose lactulose on the incidence of late onset sep...
متن کاملCorrelation between Late-onset Neutropenia, Sepsis and Associated Factors in Preterm Infants: A single center study
Background: Late onset neutropenia (neutropenia after 3 weeks of life) may be a physiological condition without need to prescribe antibiotics, G-CSF, or IVIG. We aimed to determine the association between sepsis and late onset neutropenia in very low birth weight (<1500 gm) infants. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional prospective study in VLBW infants that were admitted in Mahdieh ...

Background Late onset sepsis is a frequent complication of prematurity, associated with increased mortality and morbidity. Probiotics may prevent late onset sepsis in premature infants. The aim of this study was to determine prophylactic effect of oral probiotics in prevention of late onset sepsis of very preterm infants. Materials and Methods This study was a randomized, double blinded, placeb...

A mathematical algorithm for detection of late-onset sepsis in very-low birth weight infants: a preliminary diagnostic test evaluation.
OBJECTIVE To study the diagnostic ability of RALIS (computerized mathematical algorithm and continuous monitoring device) to detect late onset sepsis among very low birth weight preterm neonates. METHODS Randomly chosen 24 very low birth weight infants with proven sepsis were compared to 22 infants without sepsis. The clinical parameters were retrospectively collected from the medical records...
